I can provide guidance and support before the birth of your baby, addressing any particular concerns or worries you may have and helping you prepare with confidence for an optimal breastfeeding experience.
During the early weeks with your new baby I can help you to overcome any breastfeeding challenges you may experience. These might include: attachment difficulties, sore or damaged nipples, sore breasts, baby fussy or refusing the breast, large weight loss or slow weight gain, low milk supply or baby needing supplements.
Consultations would usually take place in your home. If this is problematic, please contact me.

Antenatal Consultation
This is an opportunity to explore any worries or concerns you may have, discuss how to optimise your early breastfeeding experience and develop a feeding plan to help you feel more prepared and confident in the early days.
Approx 120 mins – cost £100 (Exclusive of travel and parking costs where applicable)
Initial postnatal consultation
I will listen to your experience and concerns, take a full history and watch a breastfeed. It is really important to see your baby feed to be able to identify difficulties and problems. It may also be helpful to weigh your baby.
Together we will explore reasons for difficulties and then develop a personal plan, using evidence based best practice, to resolve difficulties, build your confidence and help you achieve your desired feeding goals.
Approx 150 mins – Cost £130 (Exclusive of travel and parking costs where applicable)
£150 on weekend or bank holiday (Exclusive of travel and parking costs where applicable)
Consultations necessitating more time e.g. twins, may result in an additional charge
Follow-up consultation
A follow up visit offers further support or guidance that may be required as you move toward achieving your feeding goals and begin to feel more confident and happy.
Approx 120mins – cost £100 (Exclusive of travel and parking costs where applicable)
A written record of the consultation is provided afterwards including links to additional information and online video support.
Email support is included for a further two weeks but new or later issues may necessitate a follow-up visit.
Weekend consultations or consultations which fall on a bank holiday will incur an additional £20 fee.
Prices exclude travel costs which are charged from EH14 2JZ as follows:
£20 for homes which are within 10 miles of postcode with additional cost of 60p per mile for homes over 10 miles, plus parking costs where applicable.
